Happy planning!
Very interesting find Jesse, my mentors are (very understandably) underwhelmed with that news at this point; they’re more focused on getting a moving robot by the 22nd.
I’m very excited about it; we don’t have to share a bus with a (at least) 100 lb robot.
same here. I’m VERY excited by this. Are they going to allow us to set the pit up as well? It would be really nice to be able to focus on inspection and helping the other teams on the first day of the regional.
That, I’m not sure of, I might send an email off to the regional director and ask.
already sent my email off
yea, I’d advise at least one person from each bag event ask; some venues may or may not allow.
In answer to the question above: NYC will not allow teams to set up their pits on Thursday evening. Team representatives will be accompanied by Javits teamsters into the pits, only if it is deemed safe, and will only be allowed to drop off the robot and leave. Mike Siegel or Ana Martinez will send explicit instructions when details are finalized, so please watch for their emails and reach the instructions carefully.
Pittsburgh will not allow you to setup up the Pit on Wednesday and you are not allowed to begin setting up until after 8:30am on Thursday. According to the email sent out the other day.
Of course each regional will be different but, in an email to the FRC Director for the New Jersey regional we were asked when we would be ready to compete on Thursday, which leads me to believe that they may begin Qualification Matches late Thursday.
I also hope that Pit Setup will be allowed Wednesday night, but no information on that has gone out yet - to my knowledge. I would guess that this will be done on an event basis.
