As a programmer on Team #751, Barn2Robotics, I’ve been messing around with NFC hardware during the off-season, especially during this new extended COVID offseason period, and I’d like to share more about this simple part management system I’ve been working on that we recently open-sourced on GitHub.
Barnyard is a new Part Management System written in Python (with a tiny NFC api wrapper in C++) that uses NFC NTAG213 stickers to catalogue parts within a Google Spreadsheet. It’s currently running on a Raspberry Pi with Raspbian Squeeze, and I’m working on making it available for other platforms as well. It’s still very much a work-in-progress with there being a lot of bugs that need to still need to be fixed, but I hope it might be of use to other teams as we work on it more.
And here’s a bonus picture of Barnyard in action in our lab (apologies for the glare):

P.S Apologies if I put this in the wrong category, I wasn’t exactly sure which category this would fit in.
