Beach Blitz is returning for a second year. This off-season event will be featuring the 2017 FRC Steamworks game, with a few modifications. In addition to the competition itself, we will by hosting workshops taught be experienced mentors and students, and will be working on having a live sports-like broadcast during the event.
As always our goal is to provide a competitive and entertaining show while leading the future generation of volunteers and teams.
Check out some photos from last year for a glimpse.

I’m very excited to see such an interest in a young offseason event. Whether we end up competing or I volunteer, I’m looking forward to see all of the teams.
I cannot express how true this is and how great of an opportunity it was to volunteer last year. For students who are normally on an FRC team, you **probably **won’t get the chance to volunteer at another event before you graduate so take advantage of this! Lot’s of the success of the event came from people working in roles that they really wanted to and were good at. There are so many roles so find something you want to do and do it!
I’ll be looking forward to the competition and my hopes are high for 2659’s application. Also, it will be great to see how the broadcast will be handled and the features that will come with it!
We have 22 applicants thus far!
Including…
A half world champ, a 2016 world champion, division finalists, regional chairman award winners, and several 2017 regional winners.
Richard,
We’re working on that right now. Last year we hosted 26 robots. We want to expand capacity to more teams, but do not want to diminish the quality of the event.
Rough estimate: 36 teams But do NOT hold me to that!!!
I can see it now: Load each robot with 40 fuel, line ‘em up on the lines, try to fill the other robots’ hoppers for 2 minutes. At the end of that, count up the fuel. Less fuel inside is the winner. Must aim at other robot. No driving except as necessary to aim.
