Hey guys my team was discussing using a camera for the sandstorm period. In the past we have only used cameras as an item just for emergency so we have been using Microsoft Lifecam HD3000 Camera (fc-T3H-00011) . Will this camera be sufficient for vision during the sandstorm? If not, are there any recommendations for inexpensive cameras with the highest scope of vision? Thanks!

We will use it. For our team camera doesn’t matter because anyway we have to reduce resolution. For me the most important thing is to mount it in the strategy place, so driver will see everything-everytime.

I have used this camera before, and from my experience, it is not a bad camera. Its resolution is on the lower end but as @xszym said most cameras have to have a lower resolution to not use too much bandwidth.

118 has used this camera on our robots for the last two seasons. It’s a 120 degree camera and is only $50. In 2018 we used two of them and switched between them depending on what the robot was doing. We also used this camera on our 2019 Everybot and you can see video of the Everybot camera feed here.
