I’m on a quest to find the best chief topic title of all time. Which chief topic title is your favorite?
From a purely competitive standpoint is there any reason to go to early events now?
If you sit back to a week 4,5 or 6 event you get to look at top tier robots, their mechanisms and how they operate then have plenty of time to try and duplicate those mechanisms.
Teams with really good ideas that would give them a competitive advantage for a much longer time under the bag rule lose much of that advantage if they reveal at early events.
Slightly off my own topic - what about reveal videos. Of c…
There are a few other legendary ones, so please share! : )

This one’s a bit of a selfish inclusion, but it had quite the title…
Hello There ChiefDelphi!
I admit that this Topic is a bit frivolous, but I’m starting to notice that is what Summer CD is for. Yesterday, a teammate of mine, @Gavin0 was telling me about a plan of his to bring a drone to an off-season event in order to get an unobstructed bird’s-eye view of the field. Please respond with the vast array of reasons why this may not be a good idea, as he might be more likely to listen to others, than just myself.
Thank You.

Are we going for best given the context or without the context?
Many years ago there was a thread called something like Achieving the Pneumatics “Pttseeuu”. It was all about how to make that cool noise with pneumatics. But, I can’t find the thread these days. Maybe @EricH remembers the thread I’m talking about.

Without context, it’s unremarkable. With context, it’s classic CD lore.

It’s been ~21 years (January of 2004). Only Andy could say if the amount of needless posting has gone down or up over time. Never change CD . Never change.
/me gets on soapbox
I have a simple request. This is for something that we all do once in a while. But since these boards are sooo busy these days, I am requesting that we refrain from posting needless stuff and be more efficient. People need to refrain from “chiming in” with something that really doesn’t add to the discussion.
These discussion boards have been around since the summer of 1998 and they have proven to be probably the best resource for FIRST teams. People come here for discus…

Maybe not the most catchy topic title, but a memorable topic.
“Transparency is the sign of BAD LARD!”
Hey guys, my name is Hunter Stanford from Team 6621 in Moose Creek, AK (Interior Distance Education of Alaska). I’m excited to share to big news about our team for this upcoming FRC season! ::safety::
We are pleased to announce that starting the 2017 season, we will be participating in FRC tournaments locally, statewide, and even nationwide if we qualify! We are so happy about this because we love robots and legos. We have loved legos ever since we were little chi…

This discussion would not be complete without this modern classic…
Isn’t it cruel that a team with this much funding goes and stomps every team at the Canadian Pacific Regional? The event was won by 359 (Hawaii), impact award won by 1622 (California), EI won by 6902 (Brazil). 8338 was the only local team that qualified as the 2nd pick on the winning alliance. Is it that difficult for 359, a team with hundreds of thousands in funding, to not be lame and seek out these less competitive events?

Or another recent banger.
It’s high time someone said something, and given recent events it’s only right that this be done. Frankly, I’m surprised nobody has said this earlier, but here it goes: 118 should be a Hall of Fame team by now. I know, it’s shocking - most of you are probably confused, thinking “They’re not? I could have sworn they were”! I had the same reaction, folks. Between Everybot, their explosive growth of STEM in the greater Houston area, inviting teams to their shop during worlds, and all of the resourc…
