Just want to let everyone know of the best fund raising idea since sliced bread.
A JUICE MACHINE IN SCHOOL!!! Since it’s very hard to get donations in my town we came up with the idea of placing a juice machine in the halls. NEWS FLASH…THERE’S GOLD IN SELLING JUICE DRINKS to kids. We sell Welches guzzlers. A case of 24 costs $10.50. We sell them for $1.00 and we go through about 7 to 9 cases per day. You do the math. We just hope the gold mine stays in business for a few years.
How much is the initial investment? Who is responsible for refilling the machine? How often do you refill it?
What type of approval did you need to go through? Does your school lease your vending to another company? We have some teams around us that are having a hard time getting funding, so this might help.
Some math.
They buy them in cases of 24 for $10.50, or $0.43 each.
They sell them for $1. That means earnings of $0.67 each.
$13.50 per case.
They go through 7-9 cases a day. $94.50-$121.50 a day.
5 days a week. Thats $472.50-$607.50 a week.
A quick google search reveals that a simple bottled drink dispensor can be bough for between ~$1400 and $3000. It is a high up front cost, but looking at the above numbers, that is three to six weeks of income. If you convinced the school to let you use power and supply it yourself, it appears to be a good money maker. Good call on using fruit juice, a lot of schools are removing sodas from their machines or turning them off durring the day.
If you use 30 weeks for the school year, here are some yearly totals.
1050-1350 cases @$10.50 each - $11,025-$14,175
Income per case of #13.50 results in $14,175-$18,225 after purchasing the product. Even if you subtract the price of a good vending machine, $3000, it still looks like you will make $8,000-$11,000 your first year. Thats enough right there to build a robot and goto a local regional.
If you have more details, please share.
Wetzel
our team hosts a lan party about once or twice a summester. we charge $25 dollars and its all night and we have a ton of sodas and pizza. we pull ion something like $800 per time that we do it. its a ton of fun and it brings in quite a bit especially if you can get a store to donate the sodas.
Where do u hold it? In the school??
Your local juice distributor (Veryfine) or others will supply the machine for no cost at all. All you need to do in purchase the products from them. :yikes:
As far as who do you need to ask? Your building principle. Tell him you won’t need to ask him for anymore funds if you can do it.
Who fills the machine? The robotic students. Afterschool or before. Set up a schedule. Maybe those who help can get $$$ put towards there trip.
