Hi, I’m new here and I’ve been wondering what the best material/rubber for treads are? I have seen on andymark that they have nitrile and urethane but i don’t know the pros or cons.
Edit: I am talking about the belt material.

When you say tank treads, do you mean treads on wheels of a “tank-style” drive, or actual tank belts?
The answer also depends on what you want to focus on, since one type of tread will be good for carpet, and another will be good for plastic.
Sorry i should have clarified, I’m curious about the tank belts.
So, the rule of thumb is Blue Nitrile for carpet and Urethane on plastic. So if you want to be able to push people around on the field, go with Blue Nitrile. If you want to have good grip on the platforms though, then the Urethane is the way to go.
Either will still be able to handle both surfaces, each is just slightly better than the other at their particular specialties.
Thank You!
Oh, and one slight addendum to my previous statement: typically Urethane tends to wear out faster than Nitrile (Though the Raptor drive is new, so it remains to be seen if it applies to this), so take that into consideration as well.
If you’re serious about tank treads for this year’s game, the AndyMark treads are a place to start. https://www.andymark.com/products/raptor-track-drive and https://www.andymark.com/products/rhino-track-drive-module
