I was wondering wat everyone’s picks for best team #'s are. I only ask this because we get alot of comments about our team # because of its “other meanings”.
My picks are…
1 (Because they can always say YAY! Were #1!!!)
21(They are of age )
69(A little biased)
111(its a good #)
999 \
–l(hey Y not?)
1000/
and
1300(because my lucky # is 13 and there is no #13!)
Some teams pick numbers b/c it either sounds good or relates to how many times they have done something
Like the previous posts
#1 - were number 1 #666 - well I don’t know if there is a team I pray for those who encounter that one
#18 - Females Legal for everything (almost) #21 - Males Legal for everything (almost)
#13 - I pray for those who encounter this one as well.
etc…
It’s weird how a team can be created and given the option on what number they want. It’s almost like throwing a bunch of numbers in that are not being used and the new team picking just 1 of those numbers and bingo thats your team. Or is it a secret account # with FIRST
My Acct# with FIRST would be 0000
not so long ago it was 05**
going with the whole math/science thing id have to say 314, 722 and 162 have the coolest numbers. but personaly, i like the #18 cause of all the symbology that goes with it. oh and can’t forget good old 365. we’re involved in FIRST 365 days per year.
After going through the list i have of info from any and all teams that have been in FIRST since 1992 heres the following informaion.
13 did exist but they dont exist anymore, heres there info.

They were the Baxter Beast I believe…I wish i still had that photo when all the baxter teams were 13(definitely out of it from my knowledge), 14(now 312: HW), 15(Coqui, but i don’t know if they are still around), 16(BBS)…
A mentor was telling me that he found a giant spraypainted sign from Team 42 abandoned after a regional, so now its hanging in his office with a can of Campbell’s Primordial Soup
I’m surprised FIRST never gave out #666, personally I’d love to have it. Any multiple of 18 or power of 2 would be pretty neat as well, but I think 42 would be the all time best team number.
Of course if you don’t like your number you can always convert it to hex and see if that helps any.

Besides my own team number which has my lucky number (27) and The Intimidator’s number in it as well (3) I would have to pick
18 - Not so much that it is the legal age for a few things, but that an Electric Car team I am/was on in College has that number.
27 - It’s my lucky number, and I want a shirt from that team as well!!! Team RUSH I believe it is?
Team 44 - My favorite NASCAR Driver drove that for a while, with the coolest (die-cast) car company as a sponsor. - But unfortunately the team does not exist anymore - meaning no shirt trading.
Team HYPER’s number - The obvious reason
As for High numbers, you have to love your own millenium team.
1237. They are (kind of) local to us. We competed with them at the NYC regional their rookie year.
Interesting story:
Back in '02 (Zone Zeal) we formed our first FIRST team, 927, Nova first. After the '02 season, we split into 2 homeschooling teams.
The First split team was given Team # 1123, (Aim Robotics; kudos, btw)
Our team, the 2nd one, was given Team # 1132 (RAPTAR Robotics)
