best winning alliances

who do u think from the regionals had the best winning alliance say if they got together at nationals who do u think would win

I have a feeling that many people will say the LA regional champions, 254, 330, and 4.

Most likely teams that are in the same division.

I’m biased

I don’t think any of the regional winners would stand a very good shot together at Championship.
Maybe 25, 103, and 1302 or 254, 330, 4…but both of those are still a stretch.

As much I hate to say it I agree, here’s what I see happenning. 573 + 1730 + another good robot = OWNAGE!!!

I’d hope so. Unless FIRST’s flux capacitor is working again and we can play in different divisions simultaneously.

Now that would be neat.

I’m inclined to agree with that analysis–regionals don’t have the depth Atlanta does.

However, if you were to take each regional-winning alliance and make a bracket up, then I could definitely see the 4/254/330 alliance going pretty far. Ditto for the 86/1251/1270 alliance to emerge out of UCF; none of those robots are anything to mess around with.

have not seen them play, but teams 123 and 247 have teamed up for two regional wins already. detroit and pa.

Best winning alliance in entertainment factors… We didnt stomp the competition, every match could have been win or lose. To me this is the most fun way to play

Ill take our St. Louis alliance (1444, 45, 829) against anyone, any time, any place.

Well… I don’t see any three exact teams getting back together from regionals. Let alone them winning it all. However, I do think that there will be one surprise team in there somewhere that hasn’t won anything yet as the third or first alliance pick or picker.

67, 340, & 1126… oh wait this isn’t 2004.
never mind.

This has been the most unpredictable game I have seen in my six years in FIRST. And one thing that really stands out is that no matter how good a robot is it’s never going to be good enough to carry and allince to victory all by itself. You need a complete alliance, a good plan and lots of luck.
I actually bet one of the champion teams will be somebody no one saw comming (like 296 and 522 last year. No one was talking about them before the weekend began).

i would actually say that our alliance 1730, 234, and 1555 would be a very strong alliance…we have the defense…and then two great offensive robots

I would like to see a repeat of my favorite alliance of all time, when we won nationals, it was 67, 330, 503. All of our machines this year are great so maybe we’ll get lucky again…

A repeat of a complete alliance winning again is astronomical. Like Koko Ed said, this game is incredibly unpredictable. I mean, look at GLR. 1114 and 67 were objectively the most explosive tube scoring robots. They were on fire and somehow lost (i beleive there were some battery problems on thier alliance). Or what about Detroit? A robot without an arm or ramps was the number 1 seed?

The only thing i can think of is a 247 123 hookup. They have been pretty continuous. winning two regionals in the same year together is rare, but in this game they somehow did it.

I am honestly really glad you mentioned that. The teams at Nationals are going to need a bucket load of luck! >.< So Unpredictable!

in addition to coming up with a winning alliance, I actually think having a greater consistent STRATEGY against your opponents will be the ingredient to winning it all.
The components include:

  1. scoring
  2. defense
  3. bonus point scoring
  4. careful use of spoilers
and when to do what when, where, and how…

While it is improbable for a winning alliance to pair up at the Championship it is possible. If I remember correctly 67’s alliance in 2004 won a regional or two together, and then went to take a division.

However, I agree…you might see one or two powerhouses together for an alliance, but not 3 “big names” there’s no way that if a team is that prestigious that they’ll make it through two rounds of picking to be picked. So while they might be amazing alliances, they won’t be “superstar alliances” (think 217, 45, 1114 (I’m just using them as random teams since I know greatly of their prowess) I can’t see anyone of those three making it through to get picked in the second round)

just my 2% of a dollar.
