Big News for Panthrobotics

Hi all,

I always like to bring good news to the community when I can.

For those that don’t know, our school, Woodlawn High School is part of a 50k population school system. Today we hosted a community meeting with the Superintendent and other school leaders to announce the implementation of the systems first Robotics Academy. It will combine the FRC program with a full four year STEM program tailored to robotics careers as a whole.

Initially this will include the implementation of three engineering based classes and one or two AP programming classes but will continue to grow to a fully staffed Academy.

We are very excited about this development. If you have any questions, I’d be glad to answer them.

Thanks so much,
Daniel

Congratulations guys! Sounds like a step in a greater future for students.

Really great. Good job!

That’s awesome! Our team has started to make steps in the same direction on creating an academy for our parent school. Can’t wait to hear what comes of your program.

Congrats on the new endeavors!

Daniel,
I can only imagine how much effort you put into making this happen. This is a really great event for your entire community: Even though you can’t reach them all, those you do will be far better for it. We all know that education is the key to success, and topics you enjoy most are those you learn the best. By imlementing this program, your school system has taken a huge leap forward towards better outcomes for everyone.

Oh, and there’s robots!

Great news! As you may have seen we’ve finally gotten “coach” stipends for the robotics head coach here in St Tammany. Maybe when we get another new governor we can make robotics a state sport.
