Does the cost of the materials for the bumpers have to be included to the Bill of Materials? Also, if items are from the kit of parts back in previous years, is the price included to the Bill of Materials?
Bumpers are part of the robot, as far as I know they have to be included, we’ve always included them and did this year too.

The total cost of all non-KOP items shall not exceed $3,500.00 USD. All costs are to be determined as explained in Section 4.1.3: Budget Constraints.
The following items are excluded from the total cost calculation:
items listed on any KOP Checklist (qty is limited to the total listed in the most recent checklist), items obtained via a Product Donation Voucher included in the KOP, items ever distributed to the team via FIRST Choice, any non-functional decorations, individual fasteners, adhesives, or lubricants that are less than $1.00 each, spare parts, and parts of the Operator Console.
Apparently you have to list previous KOP items only if you use more of that item than you got this year.
It’s all so confusing…
So if I use a FP motor from a previous year (0673), I have to count the cost that AM would have sold it for?
For fasteners, do I interpret correctly I don’t include any nuts, washers, or bolts?
Another question: Gates provided belts and sprockets the past couple years, and we are using sprockets and belts we already had from the current and previous KOPs. However, teams are allowed to order sprockets and belts for free in Gates’ contribution to the virtual KOP (we did order them but different sprocket sizes so that we could change the reductions if need be; we are not currently using the new parts we ordered). Do we count the belts from previous years’ KOP that we could have got for free from Gates as part of the virtual KOP or do we have to figure out what they would have cost should we have actually paid for them?
Sorry if that was confusing; if it was, then I assure you the confusion was mutual and genuine. It would be helpful if someone could post/link to posts/whitepapers with examples which things you have to include the price of. Thank you.
