This Saturday, one of the other volunteers showed me some video of a bird (pigeon?) on the field at a FRC event – perching on the top of the hub, and eventually being caught. Anyone know which event that was and/or where I can find the video? I thought he said it was Mexico, but I must have misheard, because there’s no Mexico event listed.

Some birds came by once in the Del Mar arena at the San Diego Regional this year. They never interacted with the field, but the thought of them doing so was kinda funny.

When we completed the Del Mar Regional in 2019 we left the field up (San the electronics) so we could have it ready to go for the San Diego Regional next week when we came back we found several of these stuck to the carpet and the Velcro on the field. They were alive, just cold. So we plucked them from the floor and the Velcro and set them on a table. In a matter of minutes they warmed up and flew off.

Awwww! So cute. I hope it managed to find its way back out.
Maybe it didn’t want to. There’s plenty of edible bits left around, even after the venue is cleaned.
