This is looking great! 7525 has been noodling on similar concepts. Very excited to watch the rest of this come together.

I may have missed this:

  1. Does this allow you to control both game pieces independently? Since they share the middle set of wheels, it looks like you might have issues.
  2. Are there plans to make this bot climb?

We haven’t tried to control both pieces at once yet, all rollers are controlled by their own motor so it may be possible. Due to the shared middle roller not sure if it will work though. Once we have it built we will try it and post an update. Currently we don’t plan to add any type of climb due to our time constraints, but we do think it is an important part of the game that teams should try to do.

Hey I’m having trouble exporting assemblies in onshape. I’m not similar with it and I’m trying to export step files to import to fusion 360. when I export the assembly, it exports each individual part

Not sure why you posted this question in the Bison Ri3D topic. Perhaps another topic related to Onshape might yield more help.

Be sure you are not selecting the checkbox to “Export unique parts as individual files”. This would produce multiple exported files with one part each.

If you don’t check this box, you should get just one .STEP file, but the file would be comprised of all the parts in the assembly. Mates don’t carry over in an exported file, but all the parts should remain in the same position as in the Onshape assembly. Exporting does not do anything like fusing separate parts into just one monolithic part.

What gear ratio are you guys using for the end effector?

Wanted to shout out your team and the help it provided our team so far. We took your CAD and did a rough prototype on CNC out of plywood on Wednesday. Worked like a charm and the team loved it. Don’t know exactly how it’ll be integrated etc etc but it was an amazing starting point!
