Bit Buckets CAD Library Release

I’m releasing the CAD library I’ve created for the Bit Buckets for the 2016 season as a service to the community and to ensure compliance with the Fabrication Schedule rules. It includes SolidWorks models of many COTS parts from Vex Pro, AndyMark and other suppliers as well as sketch blocks of electronic components and common mechanical components. Most of the included files are useful for any team; a few are Bit Buckets-specific parts, like the plywood spacers.

I will be updating the library as I develop more elements (sketch blocks for laser-cut wood joints will be the next major addition) and as more parts become available.

Thanks to Vex Pro, AndyMark, Team 610’s Part Library and Andrew Lawrence’s gear library for most of the models.

This is excellent. I’m new to GrabCAD. Is there a way I can add this to my library so that I can reference it and your updates will still get added?

I haven’t found a way, that would make it much easier, I’m thinking about posting our Spectrum library on github as well and then I can committ there and teams can just pull from github to their own team parts library on grabcad. A little round about but it should work.

I really appreciate this library. I just waned to let you know that the 14t CIM pinion gear is actually a 13t gear. I can find the correct gear myself, but perhaps you can correct this for the next person who wants the 14t gear.

Nice catch; fixed.

The public library has been updated with some new COTS parts as well as models and sketch blocks of the Stronghold field. If you already use the library, be careful with the update, as I’ve reorganized some files that might break models.

Well done Bit Buckets!
