So inside of the teams Rendezvous zone is flooring protection totaling about 3/8". The black “boundary” bar that separates my half of the rendezvous zone is also steel 1x3, correct? I’m talking about the 5’ 3 3/4" bar running perpendicular to the switch. Is this mounted to the floor protection panel or to the floor? In other words, are there two sections of flooring protection or are there four AND is the black bar 3/4" off the playing surface or 1 and 1/8"?
In 3.3.3
BOUNDARIES are 3in.(~8 cm) wide, 1in.(~3 cm) tall steel barriers that divide the area inside the SHIELD GENERATOR into four (4) equal sized rectangles that are 5 ft. 3¾ in. (~162 cm) wide by 5 ft. 10⅞in. (~180 cm) deep. BOUNDARIES are secured to the carpet using hook fastener which increases the height to approximately 1¹⁄₁₆in. (~3 cm). The Red and Blue BOUNDARIES feature 1-in. (~3 cm) diameter holes spaced every 1 ft 4½ in. (~42 cm) for staging of POWER CELLS. A pair of black BOUNDARIES divide the Red and Blue RENDEZVOUS POINTS. Each truss base has two shorter steel barriers, black with ALLIANCE colored tape, mounted to them. These barriers are ALLIANCE colored BOUNDARIES.
If the steel boundaries divide it into to 4 equal rectangles, then this would have to include the black boundaries because the red and blue alone don’t divide it up into 4 rectangles. So I’m pretty sure the black ones are the same as the red and blue.

3.3.3: BOUNDARIES
BOUNDARIES are secured to the carpet using hook fastener which increases the height to approximately 1 1/16”.
This is the closest the manual gets to explaining your question. What I believe you’re asking is if the black boundaries are on top of the extra flooring. Unless this explanation is sufficient, the best place to ask would be the Q and A site here.
Should’ve expected that from Q and A. My bad. I can’t look at the drawings right now, but best of luck to answering your question OP.
This is addressed in figure 3-11 in the Arena section of the manual:
Yes, but is that the outer boundary or all of the boundaries? It does not show the floor protector on the opposite side, which makes me feel like it is a cross section of the outer boundaries.
Based on the field drawings and the description, I’m pretty comfortable saying that the inner boundaries are directly on top of the floor and not on the floor protector.
The floor protector assembly (GE-20057 & GE-20058) matches the dimensions described in the definition of BOUNDARIES in the field manual. That is:
BOUNDARIES are 3 in. (~8 cm) wide, 1 in. (~3 cm) tall steel barriers that divide the area inside the
SHIELD GENERATOR into four (4) equal sized rectangles that are 5 ft. 3¾ in. (~162 cm) wide by 5 ft.
10⅞ in. (~180 cm) deep.
And from the field drawings:
The floor protection pieces would need to be several inches wider than specified if they went under the steel protection boundaries.
Additionally, the assembly instructions for the Shield Generator drawing (page 3 from here) indicate that you put down all of the boundaries and then position the additional floor protection pieces.
Thank you Scott. That is what we were looking for.
