If you send me a few hundred bucks I can pick you up a new camera…

No, really, I have no idea. Strange problem. Hrmmm.

I know this is pretty obvious but did you try cleaning the lens? People always forget the little stuff, happened to me with a telescope eyepiece.

it would seem to me that the lens is slightly bent out of its position; not sure how to fix it though; if its possible try detaching and reattaching the lens; if thats not applicable to your camera that i really dont know

Belive ME ive been cleaning it for 5 monts, i dont think thats the problem

What features does your camera have??? It could be that you unknowingly done something to your camera by accident.

my teammates droped it a few times in huoston

that myte be the problem with it

That could do it. If it’s not too expensive of a camera, I’d advise just replacing it. You can probably get a better camera than that for what you’d probably pay to have the lens fixed or replaced.

www.ebay.com

  • sell it
  • get a new one

There are some awesome ones that go at a good deal. I saved $300 buying off ebay

Tytus,
I was going to ask if it had been dropped. It gives every indication that one of the lenses has become displaced or the the CCD (pickup device) has become dislodged. You didn’t indicate what type of camera it is so I can’t speak to what to look for. If it is dead already and out of warranty, you could try looking inside. I would start by looking into the lens when the camera is turned on and see if there are any lenses that are moving around when shaken. These should be pretty obvious. If you can view the picture on a screen, then point at something with a lot of light and try moving the lens to see if the picture goes in and out of focus. That would point to the lens being bad.
Try tapping the back of the camera and see if focus changes, that would indicate the CCD is moving. Some CCD have a heatsink attached and that has some weight to it that may have broken a mounting screw during a fall. If that is the case, the repair might be easy. All things being equal, a camera worth a few hundred dollars may not be worth fixing.

Yeah, what everyone else said. The fix that is most probable to work is for you to take the whole thing apart, clean the components, and put it all back together. If you find damage, try to fix it (like if a plastic mounting part has snapped off, glue it back on). The only things I can think of that cause this is misaligned lenses or dirt somewhere inside.

And if you can’t do it, just ship it here and I’ll fix it.
