Boeing Grant Due Date

Hi All:
Does anyone know when the Boeing Grant is due and can they post the grant form?

I’m also interested; we picked up 2 Boeing mentors last year but had already missed the deadline to apply for the grant.

It isn’t active yet.

It’s very much past the due date according to the Boeing employees that inquired about it already that we have working on 11444. I’ll see if they can tell me specifically when it was due, and when the next one opens up.

No. It is not. The information is for last season’s grant. This upcoming season isn’t active yet (end of May).

Last year’s grant was due June 30th. Caught a lot of us by surprise as it was much earlier that before.

So knowing what the due date is this year would be awesome

Thanks to all for checking into this.
Like other teams, we lost our past Boeing mentor last year and if there was an email informing FRC about the new due date, it was not forwarded to the team.

This year we have a new Boeing mentor who is does not know how to find the grant form.

Thanks to all for their input.

Does anyone have a link to a page with more information about the grant?
Also, what requirements does a team have to fulfill in order to be eligible?

The link is available to Boeing employees only. According to the web page, the application process is not open yet and will start at the end of May. The main requirement is to have a Boeing employee on the team.

As a recent Boeing employee, it’s as easy as having your Boeing mentor search for ‘FIRST@Boeing’ on the company intranet. Retired Boeing mentors can still apply for the grant as well.

Specifically retired mentors only, or does this include Boeing mentors who left the company for other reasons?

I believe it is limited to present employees and retirees.

The site says grant application opens end of May. They shifted the IT resources, so that is an estimate for when they think the changeover will be complete.

Specifically mentors who retired from The Boeing Company are eligible and current employees. Believe me, I’d be taking advantage of this grant if I could as well  It’s a pretty awesome thing that Boeing is doing for FRC & FTC teams.

The past few years the Boeing grant has been very well publicized in the internal employee news, so it’s hard to miss if you read your email.

For PNW teams with a SPEEA represented mentor, don’t forget about the SPEEA STEM grant as well.

Grant is expected to open June 1 and be available thru the end of July this year.

That’s great news!
Thanks for the update.

Can some one post how much is a typical monetary sponsorship? $1000? $10,000?

The FRC grants the past few years have been about $5,000 for rookies and $3500 for non-rookies. Boeing also offers grants for FTC and FLL registrations. They can only be used for registration, although they are now able to be used for any registration fees, not just initial registration as of last year.

It depends on the number of applications approved. Boeing has taking to setting aside a fixed pool of funds. After the Rookies get their registration paid the rest of the money is divided between the remaining successful applicants. Last year I believe the number was $3600.

If anyone can share how Retirees can find out when the grant opens and how to find the information, I’d appreciate it. We have a retiree, and he’s going to ask at the monthly retiree luncheon about the FRC grant. We’re starting a new team, and a sponsorship would really help.

Thanks,
Brian
