Trying to find out if the grant from Boeing if you have a current employee/or retiree as a mentor is happening this year. We have a couple of retirees that want to mentor and they haven’t been able to find info about the grant program. This is for a rookie team.
Already happened for our team.
Boeing grants need to be submitted by current employees (I THOUGHT). I don’t think there is a retiree grant application. (I AM WRONG…)

Thanks for info. For some reason I thought retirees could help a team qualify for the grant as well.
Our team did a visit at Boeing last week to help recruit mentors for other teams, and what they stated there was that retirees can help the team qualify for the grant. However, the hours that retirees work do not count toward employee gift matching funds like they would for a current employee. (I presume that the slide show presentation made by a current Boeing employee who works with FIRST teams and and helps match them with mentors/grants was accurate)
Correct, I’ve got a Boeing retiree who has applied for and received the grant for us in this and previous seasons.
