Please just correct any inaccuracies.

Now that is a great list of teams! It should be some very difficult competition in Boston this year.

From release videos, and other regionals, its looking like alot of 30 point climbers will be present! Hopefully most will be tested and modified from past regionals, and alot will be seen making it to the top. Also i hope alot of climbers, doesn’t mean alot of falls.

Team 1099 will be seen on the ground (with a 10 point hang of course) picking discs up and shooting.

Sidenote: On FIRSTs website it says 716 will not be attending???

The list in the OP came from TBA. TBA does not necessarily update when the FIRST site does.

Hoping to make it to the regional this year…

if there are any teams with an extra hotel room that could contact me, I’m still looking for lodging options!

Thanks :>

I’ve amended the teamlist based on the FIRST website - apologies if I made any errors.

I’m looking forward to meeting some new teams, especially the 3 local rookie teams and One Byte Short who I assume are making the long trek from the 49th state for New England’s famously tropical winters

As we discovered at our Week 1 regional, once you make it to the top you also have to stay there!
After three practice days and lots of robustness testing at Palmetto we’re busy making some necessary tweaks and expect to be at Boston with both a robot working to it’s full potential and an improved lightshow.

I’m headed up tomorrow, hope to see you there!

Wetzel

Hey guys. My team isn’t competing there but I’ll be coming from New York
to see how the action is up there in Boston.
Good luck to all teams competing!

All teams should have received this notice by email, but it equally applies to our volunteers:

Important Parking Notice!

Day parking for FIRST guests will be extremely limited due to major on-campus construction.

Fans and spectators are strongly encouraged to take public transportation or to carpool whenever a vehicle must be used.

Parking will be available on a first-come-first served basis.

The limited parking will be available at the Kenmore, Granby, and Agganis parking facilities.

For directions to these parking lots, please go to: Google Maps Parking Locations

A few more fun Regional Notes!!

Any teams that have an extra Team Tshirt that we can borrow (will be returned Friday afternoon), please bring it in and give it to me or to Pit Admin by the end of the day Thursday!

Also, we are still looking for several of the Boston teams to fill out the MC & GA info form!!! Please only have ONE MEMBER fill out the form **IF YOUR NUMBER is on this list **(second submissions will not filter in).

The Info Form is here.

Also for those of you planning to take the T

The T has announced that the Boston College line between Babcock St and BC is being replaced by busses next Saturday and Sunday

Team 846, hailing from Silicon Valley, CA . . . is ready to hit Boston with our latest creation, Ultimate Funky Object.

Stats: http://lynbrookrobotics.com/?act=robots&year=2013

We look forward to having an amazing time at Boston!

Fortunately Babcock St is one stop after Pleasant St (Agganis stop) on the outbound side. If you’re coming out from Boston, just take the “B” line of the Green line. If you are coming inbound from Boston College you get the bus. Which is probably as frequent as the trolleys. If you know what I mean.

Parking for me is easy – my office is across the street, and I have my own parking spot. I’d invite you all there but I don’t think you’d all fit.

There is a tractor-trailer truck at the loading dock right now – I guess the Field is entering the building!

The NUTRONs and Ask An Engineer are proud to announce there WILL be a machine shop at this year’s Boston Regional. Unfortunately the NASA shop will not be in town this year, but we have managed to put together a good alternative.

The shop will have basic to mid-level machining functionality. Things like band saws, chop saws, sanders, grinders and benchtop machine equipment (mills and lathes). We will be able to modify or build many parts. We unfortunately will not have welding capability this year.

This year’s shop will be run completely by volunteers from the NUTRONs and our Ask an Engineer program, so we do ask for your patience ahead of time. We put a request out only a couple weeks ago for teams to pool equipment to make this happen, and received many responses!

This is a community problem, and we are happy to be apart of the communities solution to it.

We will see everyone tomorrow!

-Brando

Thanks Brandon, we’ll be glad to have some on-site capabilities at the event. Everyone should also remember that one of our sponsors, Artisan’s Asylum, is going to be providing all additional services for teams that require more advanced work, such as welding. We’ll have a dedicated courier able to run parts (and robots if necessary) back and forth to Artisan’s Asylum’s workshop across the river, and a Skype connection to communicate with the machinists and welders over there. We’ll make sure everyone’s robots are working great!

Lots of fresh robots.
Funky Monkey debut.
Nutrons second attempt at a win.
HYPER, TJ squared, Gael Force, OverClocked, Brazillians!
T-Hawks, Rolling Thunder, Alaskans! (Not sure if they’re gonna make it)
Ligerbots, IgKnighters, Three Rookies, Robot Unicorn Attack!
Too many to mention. Let’s make this Regional pop!

Webcast:

Sadly, the Alaskans didn’t make it. I was sad to see an empty pit today.

Way more corner climbers than I have seen at the other competitions. If half of them are effective it will be an interesting alliance selection.

Looks like the webcast isn’t working? Unless it’s just my computer somehow…

It isn’t just you, the stream doesn’t appear to be online at all. I hope this can get fixed soon!

They’re updating everyone via their twitter twitter.com/bostonfirst so you can track the webcast acquisition process there.
