Brazil Regional 2024

Following the steps of @jaredhk

Event Website

Last year we we’re a 3rd week regional, this year will be early birds coming at week 1.

From the 42 teams to 55 and from 30 rookie teams to 16, our biggest regional ever

Between the teams which will be in the spotlight this year in Brasília, we have 2 Championship division Engineering Inspiration winners (which you can find here, and also here) and 3 reining champions, our last season regional winners, one of them being a Championship division playoffs captain (1, 2 and 3)

Volunteering

In our event we will be counting with more than 100 volunteers, which we graciously thank for making our event possible and sustainable for the 2nd year in a row.

Other things to know:

  • Our event will be available live, as soon as I get the link to it I’ll leave it here.
  • Our venue will be the Pavilhão de Exposições do Parque da Cidade as said before in Brasília, Brazil’s Capital.
  • The event will be happening at the SESI Education Festival, which will host not only our regional but also the National Championship for FTC and FLL, more than 200 FIRST teams will be competing for a spot in Houston (4 for FRC, 3 for FTC and 3 for FLL).
  • We already have 2 teams qualified for the FIRST Championship through their awards from last year (FRC).

If you guys have any questions regarding our regional, feel free to ask and I’ll be more than happy to answer y’all

Pure curiosity if I wanted to volunteer but didn’t speak or read Portuguese would there be a huge language barrier when interacting with teams?

I wish you all the best at your event! But also, we miss seeing a few of your teams each year in Türkiye!

Not much!

Most teams have at least 2 - 3 people who are able to communicate in english. Most of the event staff and local volunteers can also speak english as well. Over the years we`ve had (and still have) many key volunteers from the US that were able to communicate well with teams without much issue.

Although I am pretty sure that if you end up in Brazil you will spend most of your time communicating with @CarvalhoJeo about swerve programming

Fun fact: All Impact Award Presentations happen in English on this event!
