Hello, I am using JVN’s design calculator but one questions i have is how do I know if my gear ratio is to low. When using 775 pros, they burn out fast if stalled so i’m trying not to stall them. Here is a example: A bag motor is being used with a 1:7 ratio. It says the current drall when loaded is 78.68 amps. Can’t you push more then 40 amps for a certain time period before the breaker blows?
Yes, see the breaker spec Time vs Current: http://www.team358.org/files/electrical/MX5%20Spec%20Sheet.pdf
Note: heating of the breaker will lessen the time to trip.
