Has anyone else had a problem with their 120 amp breaker? Ours is broken. The nifty little reset switch won’t stay in the reset position!:mad:
It is disconnected from everything and still wont stay in the reset position?

CORRECTION
On what I had here, I need to make a correction. The breaker always allows a connection to go through unless you hold in the red break button. It’s as if the reset level has been disconnected from something on the inside. Unfortunately the breaker was pop-riveted together in Mexico, so we can’t crack it open and try to fix it.
Anyone know if this is a common problem?

Hmmm…I forget what this breaker looks like, as I have only held it in my hand for a short time. ( we are PROTECTING all kit parts…especially these “new” parts we don’t have an old spare of)
If going to FIRST for a replacement fails, the only thought I have is that you identify the vehicle this breaker comes from, and rush out and purchase it ASAP. (I hear that financing incentives are ending soon
Take the breaker out of the car, convert the car to a war-wagon, and your all set. (and your robot will have a nice comfortable set of wheels!)

PS: Sorry…I’m a little whacky after a marathon week of working on a controls PCB that is being scrapped fro the design.
Theise breakers are a pretty common thing, Ive used them a bit in my work with car accessories, id say just search around the net and you should be able to buy one if first wont give you another (which they should)
We have used these breakers in the OCCRA competition for the last three years. I have never seen one fail.

The RED push button on top of the breaker is meant to open the breaker. The little black flag that comes out is the actuator to indicate that breaker has been tripped. Reset is accomplished by resetting the black flag into it’s covered position, i.e. not visible.
This breaker is a big improvement over last year. I have not been able to make it trip with shock in any orientation although I have tried many times. I have yet to fully test under load, but suspect that since this product was designed for vehicle use, we will be satisfied with it’s performance.
Thank you all for your input. It looks like this is a fluke (lucky us) since no one else has had a problem. The part is on it’s way back to FIRST and we’ll have a replacement soon (crossing fingers).
