Build Season Music

I know this may seem silly, but as a web designer, what really gets me focused is the pokemon theme song from the first pokemon movie. It just gets me all pumped and all excited for the day.

ROFLMAO

But most of the time, I listen to some Taylor Swift or Linkin Park or The Eagles. Paramore is pretty good too.

Symphonic metal sets me in the mood for programming; either Nightwish or Trans-Siberian Orchestra. They also help out when I’m doing electrical work.

Most of the time we don’t have music on, though; we’re chanting various things (such as "badger badger badger badger … " – we have a team-member named “Badger” and so we adopted the badger song).

I’m listening to ‘Rosetta Stoned’ by Tool right now…not for the kiddies. Not much music past year 2000 on my iTouch…newer rock…esspecially the &*%(that people call metal (e.g. Incessent bass drum beat with rediculous fluctuations between growl and scream) doesn’t really cut it for me. After you get heavier than slayer or pantera you cross the fine line between angry and rediculous. Oh well…besides boiling my blood with minor key guitar riffs I also listen to some classical (Mozart’s requiem) blues (SRV) and more classic rock even some eletronic. I habitually avoid rap and country and emo…I really hate guyliner…

Awesome for the Nightwish part i sadly can’t find others that like them too.

Led Zeppelin. It’s all I need, but I also like:

Metallica S&M
(the album where they play with the San Francisco symphony orchestra)

Random Techno (I’ve heard sandstorm at robotics appox. 57483906 times xD )

I’m a Classic Rock guy. So that means Boston, Electric Light Orchestra, Led Zeppelin, The Animals, The Doors, Rush, Chicago, Dokken, Van Halen, Cream, Queen, Foreigner, Frank Zappa, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Guns N Roses, Jimi Hendrix, etc. The list goes on and on.

The only techno I really listen to tends to be Aphex Twin.

I’ve got quite the variety on my Walkman. Within about half an hour I’ll go from Rush to Skynyrd to Andrew Lloyd Weber to They Might Be Giants to Canadian Brass to Chuck Mangione. There’s also some REALLY random stuff I’ve picked up off of Youtube

Whoop, almost forgot Devo

My other is music from plays like “Little Women” (this years play, come and watch) “Phantom of the Opera” (best in the world), and maybe “Les Misrebales.” (not sure if I spelled that right) Anyway, some really great classical could work too (but it has to be powerful and amazing, which very few is).
