This is from Team 38 getting ready for NURC 09 Fire Under The Ice
We are building our second rov, in 24 hours!
we started at 10:10 am , and should be in water by midnight.
we have our web cam running, you can access it here:
Team 2486 is planning on signing up as soon as we can secure a P.O.
We’re planning on building it from scratch–using an arduino microcontroller master-slave arrangement/set to control our ROV (which we will be building from scratch–should be a lot of fun ).
I quit watching around midnight, but it looks like progress was made! The design is similar to last year’s ROV (see it in the background), one change is the holonomic drive on the new one.
Great job Team 0x27!
(I also like the use of this year’s FRC camera as a web-cam…)
[12:42:11 PM | Edited 12:42:47 PM] Frank N.: Well we finished aroun 2:15 making it a 16 hour build. This included mounting the props and testing a nd revising the software for about an hour to ensure that the controls were all correct. We kept at it till 3:30 am however because the video did not work. As ti turns out, the Ethernet cable that supplies the video has one or 2 bad conductors or a connector. This cable is unfortunately scotchcasted and we were to tired to replace it. Other than that, ROV gen II is ready for water.
We took about 15000 pictures taken, one every 5 seconds that we will put together and make a video, will post it as soon as its done!
