Hello everyone! My team has plates on the side of our robot so that the bumpers aren’t flush with the tubestock anymore. We want to mount bumpers so that the bracket is offset from the plywood by a quarter of an inch using washers. Does anyone know if this is allowed?
That should be fine as long as:
- All hard parts of the bumper outside the frame perimeter are within 1 inch of it (R408)
- The bumper backing is supported by (within 1/4 inch of) the frame
perimeterat the ends and at least every 8 inches (R410)
I don’t believe there is a limit on how far your bumper brackets can go inside the frame perimeter.
