I have an idea for a bot which would dock with the leg of the monkey bars and “elevator” up while riding on that leg. This would require that the side profile of the bot would match that of the bars @68 degrees, which would make it look like the eastern half of the state of Tennessee. So if I bumper the bottom section of “TN” then the north eastern part of “TN” would hang over the bumpers because of the angle. At least the front portion of the bumpers would have to be made to match this angle. Is this a violation of 4.1.2 -r09, or more?
If you have that side of you robot over 16" long the excess doesn’t have to be bumpered (you have to have 8" of bumper on each corner).
4.1.1.4 R04
In the STARTING CONFIGURATION, no part of the ROBOT may extend outside the vertical projection of the FRAME PERIMETER, with the exception of minor protrusions such as bolt heads, fastener ends, rivets, etc.
