Bumper rules

Hello there,

Do you know if that’s possible to put the wood of the bumper all over the frame but to put only two 8" bumper sections on both side of the front side of the robot?

Thanks,

If I understand what you are asking the answer is no. Your 8 in section has to be noodle backed with wood.

A piece of wood is not a BUMPER. So if you add wood to the outside of your “frame”, that extends your FRAME PERIMETER to include those pieces of wood - and it would be included in the 120" measurement and the ROBOT weight. And then you have to install complete BUMPERS (wood, noodles, cloth covering, numbers) outside the wood pieces.

No, but if it works OK for you, you could put wood just inside your frame perimeter at the gap in the bumpers. It would then be part of the robot (and count towards weight and CAW), but might meet the functional requirement that made you ask the questinon.

Maybe ask your question again?

I think you want to know if you can have a gap in your bumpers. Yes, you can.

Basically have your bumpers with 8"sides at each corner if your basic shape with sting is a rectangle. Any gap in between the corner bumpers is totally allowed to be any length unless the entire side of you frame perimeter is less than eight inches.

Bumpers have to exist between 4"-12" and can be offset
