Bumper zone vs. Climbing

I didn’t see any rule that explains how you are allowed to transition for non-climbing (where bumper zone rules would be in force) to climbing (where bumper rules are not in force, or are they?)

For example, can I drive to under the 30" bar, and deploy a mechanism (e.g. think stinger) that pushes off of the floor for lift, raising bumpers above 10" prior to first contact with pyramid? (Mechanism might also lower bumpers on opposite side of bot below 2" if bumpers are mounted low due to fulcrom at wheels.

R25: BUMPERS must be located entirely within the BUMPER ZONE, which is between 2 and 10 in. from the floor, in reference to the ROBOT standing normally on a flat floor.

It leaves a little room for interpretation as to what cobstitutes “normal standing” but I see it being OK.

I think it means that the bumpers only have to be within the bumper zone when the robot flat on the floor. It is worded pretty similar to last year and our robot had cylinders that when deployed, caused the bumpers to leave the bumper zone.

R26 BUMPERS may not be articulated (relative to the FRAME PERIMETER).

R25 is fairly clear in specifying that the bumper zone is relative to the robot, not the floor.
