Does anyone have any ideas on how to create a solid intake for the power cells and also meet the bumper requirement?

Check out FIRST Capital RI3d, they’ve got some intake ideas you could use.

Try to find some robots from 2012. Very similar ball. Several teams had over the bumper type pickups.

Here are some links I found yesterday after a quick search for ball intakes with a closed frame. This is just a couple videos, there are many more out there.

Also 2016 STRONGHOLD. The ball was bigger, but the same type. 2012 might be more useful when looking for ways to hold/control a small number of balls (the 2012 limit was three).

Yep. A book… out of print now, but often in local/school libraries.
