Has anyone noticed that if you mount your bumpers using the mounting system supplied in the KOP that your bumpers will be 1/2" outside of the 7.5" bumper zone? Your total bumper height would be 8"?
How are you mounting the kits to the plywood? This hasn’t been an issue for teams in the past, using the same system (it hasn’t changed much in the past few years). Unfortunately, my team opted out of the drive kit, so i don’t have a reference to look at right now.
If you remove the brackets from the bumpers and mount them 3/4" higher than they are now, you’ll get down to 7 1/4". This will put the bottom of the bumper slightly below the chassis, assuming stock 6" wheels.
It’s possible I’ve already lost my mind. I just CADed it and it says 7.25’". I think because the drop wheel it makes one side sit higher and I measured from the wrong side. lol.
I feel like our bumpers have always hung below our chassis by a bit.
Even in your rookie year (2016)?
I am not sure about that one.
2016 had a really high bumper zone if I remember. But even then I think ours were maybe 1/2" or so below the chassis.
