Hey everyone,
BunnyBots 2013 is tomorrow, and we’ve got a livestream! For those of you that aren’t familiar with BunnyBots, it’s an offseason competition run by Team 1540 where our mentors and graduating seniors come up with a new game each summer. This means that teams get experience building real robots before build season, and it’s a ton of fun.
This year’s game is Pool Party. (Not a water game, sorry!) It’s played like the game of pool (like billiards pool). Robots work to score red and blue balls in pockets placed as they would be on a pool table, and of course at the end there’s an 8 ball worth 8 points.
Stuffed bunnies, the namesake of the event, are used to ‘claim’ pockets for an alliance. Normally, if a red ball scores, the red alliance gets a point, and ditto for the blue alliance. However, if an alliance ‘claims’ a pocket by placing a bunny on it during autonomous, any ball that scores gets points for that alliance. Also, stuffed bunnies + chains + gears = bunny carnage. It’s more fun than you’d think.
Anyway, if you’re interested here’s the livestream.
Matches run from 10-4 PST tomorrow.
Thanks for tuning in!
