Burning Spikes

Let me ask a question: what would cause our compressor to blow 3 of our Spike fuses in less than an hour? Would the compressor being to hot have any effect? What causes this? This problem just started today, by the way. What could cause the fuses to blow out?

I’ve heard It has something to with the back pressure coming from the tanks causing some sort of current spike. That’s why they allow you to replace the fuse on the compressor spike with a auto resetting one. I’ve only seen it blow once.

Replace your fuse with a 20A breaker, the initial current draw of the compressor tends to pop the fuses.

It worked. Thanks guys.

Compressor start current is 25 amps and the run current is a little over 10 amps. The compressor is guaranteed to blow the 20 fuse. That is why the 20 amp circuit breaker is recommended
