Statistical Analysis

As of now, the strongest correlation appears to be between Rank and Match Points. SD was less correlated all around than CVR, and also had a noticeably weaker correlation between Rank and Touchpad. Interestingly enough, all alliances also finished in the same places between CVR and San Diego.

Are those correlation values r or r-squared values? I’m assuming r-squared since none of them are negative.

Hey man, I just gave y’all what Excel gave me, so whatever that is.

Teams can’t control their touchpad or rotor total as much as they can control their team’s climbing and gears output. Considering that, I wonder if you could try correlating with component OPRs? That’s probably better information for teams asking themselves “what can I do to ensure I rank highly?”

That makes sense based on how the majority of competitions have played out. Just out of curiosity, has there been a more statistically significant correlation between match points and rank in the past?
