Camera configuration problems

For a while I have been havi g trouble connecting to the axis 206 camera. No matter how I change the ip settings, it won’t ping back. I downloaded the axis ip utility and it recognizes the device but calls it “Not Accesible”. Any suggestions)

A little more details would be help full. What IP addresses have you used? what subnet mask are you using? Have you verified that the Ethernet cable works? Have you verified that the ethernet port works?
A little more detail about what has been tried and did not work might enable us to help you

I have tried to acces the camera using the default ip(192.168.0.90) with no success. I have my computer set to 192.168.0.2 and I have tried both 255.255.255.0 and 255.0.0.0 as subnets. Again, I downloaded the axis software which identified the camera as ip=192.168.0.60 but as not accessible. I am connecting directly to the computer using a crossover cable. A regular Ethernet just registers as not connected to the computer

Can you ping the camera? Have you tried connecting through a router, with the camera as 10.xx.yy.11 (your team number in the xx and yy), and your computer on this network as well?

You may have already done this, but you didn’t mention it, so I’ll ask… did you try factory resetting it to make sure you know its IP address?

I did do the factory reset (several times) with no apparent change. Again, the axis ip utility (the utility for assigning IP addresses to cameras from axis) recognized the camera as having an address of 192.168.0.90, but it was not accessible.

I have been using a crossover cable to connect the camera to a laptop. Would there be any difference if I connected it to a router? Would i have to configure the router to run on 192.168.0.xx or would it work on 10.28.48.xx?

To factory reset the camera, unplug it, wait five seconds, hold the reset button, and plug the camera in, and continue holding the reset button until the light on the front of the camera flashes red and green (I’m doing this from memory).

At this point, the camera should definitely be at 192.168.0.90 and you should be able to ping it, log into it using a web browser (type the IP address into the URL command line), and you should be able to use Vision Assistant or other tools on the camera.

Does the camera have power, and what color is the light around its lens?

Is the network status light on the camera showing that there is a good electrical connection? If you plug the camera into a router, does the status light on the router show a good connection? Do you see any blinking on the activity light?

Can you copy the results of typing “ipconfig” and paste it here? That might show something odd that we could recognize as a possible problem.

I have reset by using the procedure using the actual axis camera manual.

I unplug the camera, wait a while, hold the button and plug in, release when the amber light turns on and then the light turns green. The lights on the router light up. The light sequence is the same whether or not i hold the reset button btw
