So do you think the people at FIRST have finally gotten the camera right this year?

I believe it’s our job to get the camera right.

I think the camera, after fixing a few bugs, worked perfectly fine last year. Very little lag in the live video, tracking seemed to work fine (non-competition testing), and on the most part (ignoring the build problems wpilib faced) it didn’t cause much of a coding issue. The only real big problem was the error handling in WPILib occasionally tripping watchdogs
There was too much work to do with the camera and i felt it wasn’t that important to the game so we basically put it aside. if the challenge relied heavily on the camera. we might have to deal with it.
The camera worked almost out of the box last year with LV. We set it up and were able to track targets within a short period of time. FIRST has never made a certain piece of the KOP a necessity to play the game well.They only give you the tool and let you decide whether the cost/benefit ratio makes sense for your team and the challenge that year.
