Camera not found!!!

So, first i plugged the camera to some power, than to the serial port on the computer. I run the GUI and it works awesome, still cant calibrate it because i dont have the paint yet. So the camera works…BUT when I plug the camera to the robot controller and turn on the bot, the print window from the ifi loader says: Camera not found, check power cable and ttl connection, but the power is on and the camera connected!! Could it be cause i havent calibrated the cam yet? Any help will be humongesly appreciated.

Are you sure you have the TTL serial link to the RC controller connected properly? We got this error today and realized we didn’t have the camera connected to the RC board.

Also, as stated in other threads, make sure the camera is also not plugged into the windows GUI at the same time

Ok, the camera is not plugged to the GUI, the power is plugged to a pwm, the ttl control chip connected to the camera board and plugged to the robot controller in their correspondidng connections. Dowloaded the the default code provided by first with camera support. I can see the camera has power, i have tested the camera with my computer, but still the ifi terminal window tells me that the camera is not found. I am very afraid that the serial chip might be broken :frowning: . Any help will be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks.

You cannot have the TTL port and the RSS port conected to the camera at the same time. Connect the pwm to the camera and the RSS to the computer. Disconnect the TTL port and then try.

Already tried that, not working. My camera is Not connected to the PC, is only connected to the robot.

we are having the problem of “camera not found” again. Several days ago we had fought through this error code and were successful in overcoming it. We have tried new wires, manual suggested power downs, charged battery packs. The code indicates that the camera_reset()==0 in the user_camera.c code is the point the program is getting hung up on, however when we printed that value, it indicated it was 6204.

The camera itself works fine, we can calibrate, grab images, automatically track colors when the computer is hooked up to the camera itself. The RC will not recognize that the camera is there and powered up.

Any suggestions prior to us attempting to get a new TTL adapter would be appreciated.

Thanks for your help.

I have a new problem now, not even the GUI will recognize the camera. The console displays the message: Looking for camera… and doesn’t move from there. It used to work before.

Has anyone been able to figure this problem out yet? I have tried everything again today and it is still not working. Any other suggestions?

I took my cam to another team’s place, they had their camera working so they tried our camera, apparently our camera is fryed or cracked

We also went to another team for help. It turned out our camera was fine but our TTL/RS-232 converter was bad.
