Our team want to use 9 motors this year and we need another space for a victor to control a bag motor, or a spark to control a van door motor. Can I use either of these in the 30 A breaker spot on the power distribution board::ouch:: ?
Yes, you can put anything on a “too small” breaker legally; you just can’t put it on one that’s too big. Many teams run their 775 pros on 30A breakers. It’s just a bit easier to trip the breaker. Unless you’re stalling or near-stalling the BAG for long periods of time, this should work out fine.
Edit: In particular, note the first row of the table in R58. A motor controller must be protected by a circuit breaker rated up to 40A.
