Can a bot cross the finish line while...

trying to kock down the ball in hybrid? From my understanding breaking the plane means your bot has to fully cross the lane marker so this is legal right?

Whoa there! I’m not sure I quite understand here.

If I do understand, you are saying that the robot can partially cross the finish line and reach back. This is true.

However, the original question in your post implies (definition of crossing) that you go completely over the line and reach back. This is not legal and is worth a penalty.

Breaking the plane is not the same as crossing the lane marker/finish line. You can break the plane all you like in the counter-clockwise direction, but as soon as you cross fully, breaking the plane is a penalty. Period doesn’t matter.

oh ok my fault for using the wrong terms. What i meant to say what, was the following scenario:
during hybrid the front of the bot breaks the plane to knock the ball off because he have our ball “knocker offer thingy” in the back of our bot. so after our bot has knocked the ball off it just goes foward and Crosses
the finish line. this legal right because our bot never completely crossed the finish line it just broke the plane and our bot never drove back?

Even if your robot breaks the plane of the line, you can back up unless you cross the line completely. This strategy is fully legal; in fact, you might see a lot of it.

Yes this is legal, because you never crossed the line completely.
