If you watch this video:
You will see that as we tighten the Victor SPX down, the indicator lights go from yellow to red indicating some sort of CAN fault. You can see that the fault goes away as we loosen the screw and comes back when we tighten.
Can anyone explain what is happening and why?
First of all, I would recommend turning off the robot before working on electronics. I am not 100% sure why this is occurring, but my guess is that you may be overtightening the bolt causing something inside the Victor to bridge in a way that it shouldn’t, or causing something that should be connected to become disconnected. The fact that it has a plastic case would exacerbate the effects of overtightening and transfer more of the extra compression force to the PCB inside, causing the issue.
