CAN chain issue using Kraken motors

Hey guys,
So we recently got our krakens in for swerve, and we recently mounted them on our new chassis. Problem is, as we’ve wired the CAN, it seems like no matter how we do it, after we connect the 4th motor in the CAN chain, the motor LED’s start indicating faults. We’ve tried everything from using different CAN wires to wiring up a different motor for the 4th. Is there any potential reason for this?

Have you updated the first 3 motors to the latest firmware?

Is it this specific motor, or any 4th motor? We had a bad motor that would make the entire can chain fault when it was on the bus, but as soon as it was off the bus everything was fine. We contacted CTRE and WCP and they helped us navigate the issue!

Its any 4th motor

Are you terminating the CAN chain properly (at the PDH or with a 120ohm resistor)?

Terminates at the PDP, we aren’t using a resistor though

Thats fine, the pdp acts as a termination resistor. Do you have the pdp termination resistor jumper set to on?

We ran firmware updates today and it seemed to fix the problem :+1:
