Ever since the 2023 everybot was first revealed back in January, I’ve always wondered, can it hit the griddy?
The motion that the everybot makes when it’s extending and retracting it’s arm to grab/release a game piece is quite similar to the motion that one’s arms make when preforming “the griddy”.
I’ve attached a gif below for further clarification:
I feel like with the right driver control and tension, it’s absolutely possible. However, we won’t know until we test it out, and unfortunately I don’t think anyone’s willing to do so.
Unfortunately with the lack of arms in most CRESCENDOsm robot designs so far, coupled with the kitbot derived architecture of the 2024 Everybot, I fear that griddying will be a rarity this season, however I’d love to be proven wrong.
Alas, there is one robot that might be able to griddy. The 2024 Rev Ion Starter Robot isn’t the “Everybot” but it is close enough imo, and the arm intake thing seems to be able to at least attempt the griddy.
