After reading http://frcdirector.blogspot.com/2012/04/championship-and-beyond.html, I was a bit confused on the wording. For championships this year, I was wondering if the five team representatives were allowed to work on the robot on wednesday night, or if they can only unpack. I know we were allowed to last year, and right now I’m making the assumption that we can (because the machine shop is open). Thanks for the responses.
Yes, you can. But getting inspected is the number 1 priority. The practice fields are closed Wednesday, for this reason.
Thanks!
Big Al has recruited extra inspectors, so that we can get as many teams as possible through the inspection process on Wednesday evening and early on Thursday. Early inspection means more practice time. Get to the scale as quick as you can (safely) do so. :]
We are a rookie team going and i know we can work on the robot on wednesday but i cant find anywhere if we could set up our pits of if we are just allowed to work on the robot. Can any clarify this for us.
If you can work on the robot, you can set up your pit. So yes, you can.
Everyone,
Your top priority will be to get your robot out of your crate so that the movers can get the crates off the floor. Once out of the crate, your still must have your bag checked by an inspector before you can open it. Make sure you have someone with your B&T forms in the pit when you open the crate. There will be inspectors standing by to do this and we will try to make it a very quick operation. Our expectation is to have bags opened in the first hour. Please work on your robot and get it ready for inspections. We will be inspecting when the pits are open on Wednesday and Thursday morning. We can only get everyone inspected and ready to play with your help.
As a reminder, do not wait until noon on Thursday to come in for inspection. If you are making big changes, just come in to check weight as you work. You can bring the robot and all material to give you an idea of what you can and cannot do.
