Is there any rule preventing you from scoring in your opponents amp zone for cooperation. That way in theory you could score for your opponents cooperation and they could score for you to get the bonus?
If they hit you in there, it backfires. Also be advised that there are rules that COULD be seen as limiting that.
I would say it falls under G206, “For example, if Team A on the blue ALLIANCE agrees with Team F on the red ALLIANCE to feed NOTES to opponent ROBOTS to decrease the cycle time and improve the chance of achieving the MELODY.”
That is the blue box under the rule. They are not exactly the same but I would rule it to be close enough.
I don’t see any limitations on it. Don’t violate G423, contacting another robot, while you’re in the AMP ZONE.
I feel like you are not throwing the match if it is a single game piece. Also if you don’t hit anyone G423 doesn’t apply
If they hit you, it does.
Again, it’s a risk. Depends on how it’s interpreted. Would be worth an official Q&A.
G206 speaks of teams purposely violating a rule for the benefit of both alliances. If there is no rule against scoring for your opponents, then G206 would not apply.
I have confused myself. (Not hard to do, I know.)
The blue box on G206 speaks of feeding NOTES to an opponent ROBOT as an example. But I don’t see where that is a rule violation.
G428 possibly? (Misusing game pieces to reduce the challenge of the game) That seems to be a stretch of the rules beyond the hypothetical lawyering limit.
Even if you could, the other team’s human player would have to push the coopertition button, which they would have no incentive to do.
I’d look at possibly G205, which is playing below your ability/throwing a match.
The catch is that you’re trying to get better results, not worse…
@Kai59 Second ranking sort, and lower RP threshold. There’s incentive.
So it’s OK as long as you manage to win - not throw the match?
It’s possible.
(I’ve been thinking for years that this sort of rule needs to wrap up into one “Do Not Manipulate Rankings” rule.)
If you tell them you’re doing it so that you can CoOp they might happily let you.
