On the other hand, that’s now expecting refs and scorers to note and remember that one of the automated scores shouldn’t count.
Which really opens up quite the can of worms, because if it didn’t score there then maybe it shouldn’t score in the Net?

… And maybe the coopertition bonus then doesn’t apply, and maybe the teams were looking at the back of their team number displays at the driver station to track the coral progress, and maybe that was wrong, and so maybe they didn’t get the RP, and maybe everyone will be at the question box with mad looks on their faces.
And you’re saying you’d rather not get the 4 points from that HP shot into the net in exchange for spending the time to collect another ball? I’m debating whether that’s a good trade-off. If you’re already planning to score more algae in the net with your robot, I definitely don’t think it’s the right call.
Considering where the algae would be at the time that you’re doing this, yes, it could be worth it.
You wouldn’t want to do this early in the match, allowing the other alliance to try scoring in the processor themselves if they can. Late in the match, the algae on their side would be hard to see and all other algae would either be on your reef (so you have to go through the barge, swinging cages and risking fouls) or somewhere unpredictable on the field (your side or theirs). Getting another algae and scoring it in their processor could actually take significantly longer than scoring another coral in my book.
If another algae is easy to get, then yes, score another; but if there aren’t any easily obtainable algae, then there is significant merit to basically obtaining one immediately at a loss of 4 points
Why would they make a rule against it, regardless of how common it becomes?
good question. Im not actually that sure. Im just saying that people could get very annoyed very quickly and it could backfire. I don’t really know how to explain or convey my thought process on this sorry.
This is a solid question for the Q&A once it opens.
And it’s there, QA 16: FIRST FRC Q&A System
The Red ALLIANCE PROCESSOR (which will award points to the RED ALLIANCE) is on the same side of the FIELD as the Red ALLIANCE REEF and ALLIANCE AREA. The Blue ALLIANCE PROCESSOR AREA is located next to this PROCESSOR so the ALGAE scored in the RED PROCESSOR is retrieved by a Blue HUMAN PLAYER. Scoring in the other PROCESSOR is not prohibited but will award points to the opposing ALLIANCE.
For coopertition, question 5 has been asked, but not answered yet:
Coopertition Bonus Requirement
There is potential contradiction in the Coopertition Bonus requirement. The wording in section 6.5.3 states “both ALLIANCES score at least 2 ALGAE in their PROCESSOR”. The description in Table 6-2 simply states “at least 2 ALGAE scored in each PROCESSOR”. Must the Algae be scored in the PROCESSOR by their respective ALLIANCES, or does it suffice simply that algae is scored?
