We’ve wired up our limelight according to the docs and connected to the robot wifi, and when we try to access http://limelight.local:5801 it shows the site cannot be reached. Has anyone had similar problems? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I’ve also encountered this issue, but I don’t remember quite how I resolved it unfortunately. In my case, I was fairly confident that I had imaged the limelight correctly, but was having issues with connecting to the web interface. Through looking at my browser history, I’m pretty sure I fixed it either through something on the general config page http://10.TE.AM.2, or through accessing http://10.TE.AM.82:5801 (where TE.AM is your team number). Once I had access to it, I was able to configure a static IP as explained in the limelight networking setup docs, and then accessed it using that static config - I’m not sure that I ever got http://limelight.local:5801 working.
After thinking a bit more about it, I’m pretty sure I resolved it through finding the dynamic IP that the limelight currently held, which in my case was http://10.TE.AM.82. I think I found it through something on the http://10.TE.AM.2 page, but I could be mistaken.
One more thing I might have done instead of the above was adding the limelight camera stream to SmartDashboard, then using an IP address watermark in the stream to find the dynamic address (10.91.50.82 in my case). and opening http://10.91.50.82:5801 to configure the static IP. This is the method that I’m most confident I used to resolve it, but my memory of the things I tried is a little hazy, so I could be wrong.
This is kind of just a jumble of thoughts, so I hope someone else can give you a better answer, but I figured I’d provide some info on my experience with it just in case it helps. The first thing I would do would be to double-check that you’ve flashed your imaged your limelight correctly, but assuming you have, hopefully you find the above useful.
The easiest way to solve this is to use the limelight hardware manager. As long as your computer is connected to the same network as the limelight (in most cases, that means your laptop is connected to your robot wifi) the hardware manager should be able to find it.
