Today, for training purposes, I tried to program a 2005 RC. I did not modify the code on the RC since the 05 season, and everything seemed to be working beforehand.
*The code I attempted to put on the RC was made using:
- MPLAB IDE v7.2
- C18 Compiler v 2.4
- 06 Default Code 21-28-2006*
I hit the program button and downloaded the code. However, when it was done downloading, the program light remained orange. I figured this was because the latest default code requires the latest master code, so I then downloaded the newest master code (v11).
At this point, things got weird. The top 2 LEDs (Battery Power, Program State) remained green while the rest of the LEDs went dim, while the OI reported no connection. Reseting the RC did not have an effect, nor did pressing the program button. I tried hitting the program button anyway to see if I could download the user or master code but nothing worked.
I’m assuming the master code did not download correctly, but I’m unable to re-download it. Any suggestions?
if programming from another computer doesn’t work, try removing it totally from the bot and try again, if not working at this point, id say call or contact IFI it sounds like it may need their love.
There is a difference between programming on the 2005 and 2006 RCs. When you compile the code there are some changes (which I forgot) that you need to do to switch between the do. I’m guessing the master code is setup for 2006 not 2005 so that would be your problem. Also you might want to look into your version of IFI loader.
Make sure you are re-compiling the 06 code with the libraries for the 05 processor… or just use the 05 default code…

I’ll try that… once I’m able to re-program the thing.

What effect would removing it from the bot do? I would think that turning off the power would have the same effect.
I think I’m gunna call IFI, but thanks for the help
