For questions, email Team 1678: [email protected]

I had an awesome time volunteering for this event last year, and would love to hopefully be part of it again this coming October (perhaps with a team this time?). Cannot recommend the workshops highly enough - the presentation crew has done a fantastic job each year I’ve attended.

Hope to see you all in October!

Sad I’m going to miss my favorite event of the year. I owe a lot to CCC. No way I’d be key volunteer in any capacity without the guiding and support of Harsh and Bill, the planning committee, VCs over the years, and many many more.

Hopefully the stars (and the dates) align in future seasons!

Thank you both for your energy and enthusiasm in volunteering and helping make CCC what it is today!

-Mike

5458 will be there!

This email update just went out to teams. Volunteer registration link is included!

Hello Teams,

Thank you for registering for Capital City Classic 2018! We look forward to welcoming each one of you to our event this year and hope it is a great experience for you and your teams.

I have a few important updates/deadlines I’d like to communicate with teams.

  1. The CCC 2018 Payment Deadline is September 28th. Please submit payment before the deadline to ensure your team’s spot at CCC 2018. You can pay via this paypal link: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=PWCPKQLMRVP48

  2. Some teams have asked about bringing a 2nd robot. We are currently limiting registration to one robot per team. We want to ensure every team that wants to attend CCC can do so. Once we determine if we have additional capacity after registration closes, we will be granting teams the option to register a 2nd robot based on the order in which they registered their first robot.

  3. Our volunteer registration is open. CCC isn’t possible without amazing volunteers making the event happen. Please forward this registration link on to your teams, parents and mentors: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdBqxJlks_zeygY6KtxYtKQp_eiaRfdqHtBz0XNyv5I0XoctQ/viewform

  4. The CCC event website has been updated with hotel/restaurant information, preliminary Fall Workshop lists, among other things. Check it out at capitalcityclassic.org

  5. CCC 2018 will be playing the 2018 FRC Game, Power Up, with rules modifications used at Chezy Champs 2018. A list of rules modifications can be found here: https://chezychamps.com/#rules

Keep an eye out for more updates pertaining to food orders, site map, team list and detailed schedule in the coming weeks.

Best,

-Mike Corsetto
CCC 2018 General Manager

Any clue when match schedules will be coming out?

We’re super excited to be competing at CCC! I’m especially looking forward to using CCC to train newer members. Seeing the excitement on rookie faces when they go to their first competition is the best part of being captain.

Great question!

Due to the open nature of CCC, and the amount of teams coming on a scholarship, we typically have 1-2 teams that will drop the day before or day-of the event. If we did publish a match schedule in advance, there is a strong chance it would have to be redone once all the teams check in. We’ll make sure the match schedule is published at least 1 hour before the first qualification match, earlier if we can confirm all teams have checked in.

See everyone this weekend!

We’re 4th right now and have never been in the position of picking. Because of this, we will be selecting our alliance members based on bumper quality.

I see great things in your future.

We want to give a big thank you to Corsetto and 1678 for putting on such a stellar event! we had a great time competing, and this was our most successful event by far. I loved getting new members on the field to be technicians or human players and watching their faces light up during exciting matches.

Thank you!

5700 had a fantastic time at Capital City Classic! It was a fantastically run event, a great learning experience for our large group of newly recruited members, new drive team, and our updated scouting team. The freshies are all now really pumped for the 2019 season!
Extra thanks for Team 299 Valkyrie Robotics for choosing us to play with you guys in the playoffs and giving our new drive team the experience of elimination matches! Also thanks to 6918 Napa High Cellar Rats for climbing on our buddy bar in the last match! It was a great finish to retire our tired robot Bubbles.
Huge thanks to Mike Corsetto and 1678 for hosting this offseason competition, We hope to come back to CCC next year!

I think 254’s secret has been revealed!!!:yikes:

Impressive run to be an alliance captain. Too continued success in your future.
