I just finished CADing my teams elevator. I would love to be able to show the team it moving in a cascade style in Inventor because I think it will let them get a much better idea of how everything will come together. Any advice on the mates required to make each stage move proportionately as another stage is moved would be very appreciated.

Assuming you have a cascade rigged elevator:
Constrain the bottom of stage one to its lowest position. Edit the contraint and hover over the input box and you will see d??=0. Now you can use that d?? as a parameter in constraining the first and second stage together. Next just right click on the first dimension and click drive and it should work.
