Well, it seems to have stuck around the past few years, and it’s about that time.
For those unfamiliar, basically a group of CDites exchange physical addresses and send each other Christmas (or Hannukah, or Kwanzaa, or Festivus, or Have a Nice Day) cards. It was originally sort of aimed at college students, although that’s not necessarily a requirement.
A quick check of USPS.com indicates that a book of 20 stamps is $7.80, and experience indicates that Canada-bound mail requires two stamps. Therefore, we’ll put the absolute limit at 40 stamps, with Canadians occupying two spots. (Last year was somewhere between twenty and thirty, IIRC–worst-case scenario, you’re out $16 for postage.) Signups will close at noon EST on Thanksgiving Day (with the list distributed shortly after), and ideally everyone will get their cards out within the following week, so hopefully the cards will arrive around or before December 7–use that to gauge which address you want the cards sent to, if you’re on campus mail.
Obviously, I can’t track you down and force you to send cards–but try to avoid being a spoilsport. And yes, this means the other folks involved will get a physical address (via PM), so check with the parents as applicable.
If you’re game, reply here and send me a PM with your mailing address.
This oughta be fun.
