CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #14

[Not entry yet]
Is this what you’re looking for? This is an actual quote o.O
[/Not entry yet]

“Hello, everyone. I’m Dean Kamen, and yes I can, indeed walk.”
–Dean at BAE Regional in 2003

What could be so bright that makes him turn toward the MOE shirt?

:ahh:

Wetzel

“Oh my god! Is that fruit punch!? I LOVE fruit punch! Why didn’t I put a cup holder on this thing!?”

This picture would only make more sense if the Segway was wearing a long white dress and vail.

“I checked with the people at Guinness and they said my denim boxer shorts are good enough to keep my record intact.”

Despite all of MOEs efforts, the suit was only a rental. Plus they had to put Segway insurence on it, you know, just incase.

A balancing scooter with built in stinger missile launcher?
Ingenious Q. What will you think of next?

The name is Kamen, Dean Kamen.

(For the true hilarious effect, make sure you say it outloud with a poor Sean Connery accent)

“My gosh! I am TRYING to turn it around! It’s not like this suit gives me much room for movement!”

Dean Kamen, shown here trying his best to be a gracious groom as he speeds off in search of some Extra Strength Tylenol, would soon learn to rue the day he hired MOE to do the live music at his wedding. Only after it was too late to preserve the sanity of his guests did he realize that Moe Stix and the Chicken Dance simply do not mix.

New caption (since my old one wasn’t funny).

The tuxedo: Only because Dean doesn’t look good in lime green

Please disregard first response

“Where is Woodie in my denim? We need to switch back, because this tux is getting hot.”

What you can’t see in the pictures is me, in formal wear, getting interviewed.

Amanda: “Who, that guy? Oh, he’s just my prom date. He won’t get off that thing, though… he claims it dances for him. sigh

cheese!!

See? You can look formal and still ride on scooters!

segway human transporter - $4000 on ebay
leather breifcase - 75$ on ebay
tuxedo - $350 on ebay

Buying a date with a millionare on ebay…priceless

Shhh … dont tell anyone that i stil have my denim underneath this thing … what do you call it ?? a tux ??

Geez, all the good entries were taken by Monday. Especially when the first thing that came to my mind was the “Dean Kamen action figure”, and Elgin already nabbed that one. Never fear though, I have an entry:

“Onward, my legions of Segway riders! We will show those believers of conventional gravity what we are capable of! In a gracious and professional manner, of course.”

(Billfred arouses from his slumber before his six-hour radio extravaganza to judge the contest)

Judging this never gets easier. Neither does trying to come up with witty intros. So, first place goes to…

Second place is a tie. Seriously, I couldn’t decide between these two:

The following people are, as Strong Bad once put it, TWO’D!
dlavery
Jay H 237
Elgin Clock
DanielBCR
MissInformation
GateRunner
tkwetzel
Gary Dillard
karinka13 (very very true, from one who’s had to wear one)
Amanda Morrison
DCA Fan
Greg Needel

And the burn (or close enough to it) award goes to…

.

This would make the scores…

Until Sunday, when I hopefully will have recovered from those upcoming six hours…

If anyone is interested in the story behind that photo, it was taken in March, 2003 when Dean was presented with a Common Wealth award in the field of technology at the Hotel DuPont in Delaware. (Other awardees that year were Sam Donaldson, Bob Dole, and Joyce Carol Oates. In such company, Dean had to wear a tux!). MOE and the Lunatecs 316 both exhibited their robots, although you can’t see 316 in this pic.

Coincidentially, the local paper reran this picture last week for an article about the first Segway store opening up in Delaware.
